Managed VPN: As Mako Networks Partners, Precept were able to advise and implement on how to create a secure and reliable VPN between head office and the Trinity Locations. Trinity also extended the solution to allow management of the internet usage with the Mako Guardian – website content filtering module.More details to follow.
Our needs varied across the IT spectrum. We required a data backup system that would replace our current tape backup system. We also required network security replacement for our modem, firewalls, router, VPN and website content filtering. E-mail virus and spam checking system was also a critical requirement plus the ability to handle large volumes and sizes of e-mails. Finally, we requested an alternative system wide support proposal. All our needs and expectations were based on our desire to reduce our current on-going IT costs.
Precept have installed dedicated Fibre to the Cabinet Broadband connections and secured these using the tried and tested solution from Mako Networks. There is a dedicated connection for the staff internet and email access in the back of house offices, and now three dedicated connections are available for the public internet service. There is content filtering to ensure everyone of a safe browsing experience. The access points have been upgraded to dual Radio, with wireless N. These are now managed from a wireless access point controller.
